1. Strategic Group Discussion Team Event (Max 7)

+

What is it?

A dynamic, unmoderated simulation where a diverse team is given a complex problem to solve together. It is an exercise in collaborative problem-solving, designed to mimic real-world corporate boardrooms.

How is it Conducted?

Participants are placed in a team. The moderator presents a real-world prompt. The team is given 3 minutes to collect thoughts silently, followed by 15 minutes of open, unmoderated discussion to reach a consensus.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Communication: Talk-to-Listen ratios and inclusive language.
  • Strategy: Conflict management and logical persuasion.
The NegotiatorThe Initiator The OrganizerThe Diplomat

How to Prepare?

Practice "active listening" with peers. Learn how to acknowledge someone else's point and seamlessly build upon it, rather than simply waiting for your turn to speak.

How to Apply & Batch Organization

Click register below. You do not need a pre-formed team. The DISHA backend automatically curates batches. You will receive an email with your session details once your cohort reaches 7 members.

2. One-Minute Impact Pitch Single Entry Only

+

What is it?

The ultimate test of concise communication. An individual student has just 60 seconds to convince a panel of experts on a specific, thought-provoking prompt (e.g., "Pitch AI for Urban Living").

How is it Conducted?

The student stands before the panel (or camera). The 60-second timer begins. There are no slides and no visual aids—just the student, their voice, and their persuasive structure.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Structure: Hook strength in the first 10 seconds.
  • Delivery: Extreme conciseness, filler word frequency, and confident body language.

How to Prepare?

Record yourself on your phone. Count your "ums" and "ahs." Practice cutting a 3-minute explanation down to just the most impactful 60 seconds.

3. Speak For & Against (The Switch) Paired Event

+

What is it?

A rigorous test of cognitive flexibility. Two students face off on a complex topic. Midway through the bout, they must instantly flip their stance and argue the opposite side against each other.

How is it Conducted?

Pairs are given a topic and 3 minutes to prepare. Student A argues "For", Student B argues "Against". Upon the moderator's "Switch" signal, Student A must immediately argue "Against" and vice versa.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Adaptability: Speed of mental pivot during the switch.
  • Objectivity: Ability to control personal bias and structure logical arguments for both sides.
The Balanced ThinkerThe Devil's AdvocateThe Agile Strategist

How to Prepare?

Take controversial topics you feel strongly about and force yourself to write down three highly logical, data-driven points for the side you actively disagree with.

Pairing Process

4. Debate Simulation Team Event (Head-to-Head)

+

What is it?

A classic, highly structured debate between teams of high schoolers on a specific policy or ethical topic. It tests logic, research, and emotional regulation under pressure.

How is it Conducted?

Two teams face off. The simulation includes structured phases: Opening Statements, a Rebuttal Crossfire phase (where teams directly challenge each other), and a Closing Summary.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Logic: Rebuttal quality and logical mapping of arguments.
  • Regulation: Staying calm and polite when an opponent aggressively challenges your point.
The Logical AssassinThe Rapid ResponderThe Ethical Defender

How to Prepare?

Learn to attack the *structure* of an argument, not the person. Practice staying completely calm and analytical even when discussions get heated.

Team Allocation

Register below. The system will assign you to a Proposition or Opposition team and notify you of your teammates and debate schedule.

5. Crisis Room Simulation Team Event (Max 7)

+

What is it?

A high-pressure emergency scenario. Students act as an executive committee placed in a fictional crisis and must make quick, collaborative decisions to resolve it before time runs out.

How is it Conducted?

Teams are given a briefing on a developing disaster. They have 15 minutes to analyze incoming data, mitigate risks, and agree on a final action plan.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Execution: Calmness under pressure and rapid risk analysis.
  • Leadership: The speed of building team consensus when opinions clash.
The Calm CommanderThe PragmatistThe Risk Analyst

How to Prepare?

Practice prioritizing critical tasks over minor ones. Learn when to step up to give direction, and when to step back and trust a teammate's logic.

Task Force Assembly

6. ELI5 (Explain Like I'm 5) Single Entry Only

+

What is it?

The ultimate test of true understanding and empathy. Students must explain a highly complex, technical concept to a panel acting as young children.

How is it Conducted?

The student is given a complex topic (e.g., Quantum Entanglement or Inflation). They have 3 minutes to explain it using zero jargon, answering innocent (but tricky) questions.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Empathy: Patience and the ability to read the listener's confusion.
  • Creativity: Use of simple, relatable analogies to break down heavy science or economics.
The Bridge BuilderThe MentorThe Educator

How to Prepare?

Find the hardest subject you study in school. Try explaining it to a younger sibling or a grandparent without using any vocabulary words from your textbook.

Take the Challenge

Register individually below. The system will provide your presentation slot and the complex topics you may be asked to simplify.

7. Reverse Interview Single Entry Only

+

What is it?

The roles are flipped. Instead of answering questions, the student becomes the interviewer, testing their strategic inquiry and intellectual curiosity.

How is it Conducted?

The student has 5 minutes to strategically interview a Guest Expert (an adult professional) to uncover a specific set of facts or understand a complex problem the expert faces.

What is Being Evaluated?

  • Inquiry: The ratio of open vs. closed questions.
  • Listening: Active listening and the ability to pivot follow-up questions based on the expert's previous answer.
The Investigative LeaderThe Strategic ThinkerThe Empath

How to Prepare?

Practice asking "Why" and "How" questions. Instead of asking "Did you like that project?", ask "What was the hardest decision you made during that project?"
